Tue, 4 April 2006 Welcome to Miniature Gamer Radio! A podcast that exclusively deals with
the miniature gaming hobby, featuring hobby-related news, reviews of
minis and rules, and other other topics of interest to the mini gamer. My name is Mark A. Siefert, I live in Muskego, WI, and I'll be your host in this little experiment in niche-related podcasting. I've been a role-player since 12 and a minature gamer since I was 20 starting with a then-little known space combat game called Full Thrust. Since then I've branched out into many other games and genres. Now I'm getting into podcasting. "Why" do you ask? Well, when I first started downloading podcasts I found that there were many gamer and "geek" related offerings, but none that specifically addressed miniature or miniature wargaming. Yes, a few might bring it up miniatures, but I didn't want to wade through discussions about PS2 and XBox games or reviews of the last episode of Lost just to hear a quick quip about the latest WizKids "clix" game. I wanted a podcast that dealt with miniature gaming and just miniature gaming. At this posting, I'm just about ready to record my first podcast, I just need to take care of a few minor details and I'm ready to go. I hope to make a contribution as often as I can. I also want to use this blog to supplement the podcast by offering links to WWW sites and images of the products I review. So be sure to stop on down and see what's new. In the meantime, keep your brushes clean and your flanks clear! Category: general -- posted at: 2:16 AM Comments[2] |
I will be interested to see where podcasts take us in the wargaming world. Good luck with your venture and I'll "tune" in in the future. Especially looking forward to content on historical periods.

We're going to take things slow for a start. I'm going to put together a quick episode that reviews the new ADB space combat game "Federation Commander." Depending if I can get my friend on board, the next show after that should have a pretty even mix of genres (historical and fantastic), but we could do a show that covers one particular theme. I'm also working on a review of Pinnacle's new WWII edition of "Fields Of Honor."
If there is something you'd like to submit, and you have the means to record, send us a submission and we could ad it to the show.
Thanks,
Mark
